Organized December 1931, became a member of the Virginia and General Federation of Women's Clubs in 1932. The Covington Woman's Club, originally the Delphian Club was founded in 1931 with 47 charter members and has continued a long line of service to the community ever since.
The General Federation of Women's Clubs is an international organization dedicated to community involvement through volunteer service and to providing opportunities that strengthen the role of women.
The purpose or aim of this club shall be to strive through its various departments to unite into a working whole the women of this club for the betterment of self, home, community and nation.

Working with SafeHome, Inc., A local women's shelter.
Working with our local YMCA, collecting shoes for "Soles 4 Souls"
Serving Meals-On-Wheels and aiding Local Office on Aging
Bell-Ringers for Salvation Army
Helping the Alleghany Highlands Christmas Mother - adopting a family
Working with the National Forest Service to provide Field Trips to the Eastern National Children's Forest.
Club members promote recycling and reducing trash - this club year members had local officials sign a proclamation making the month of April a time to pick up litter and beautify our community.
The restoration and beautification of the Helen's Child Garden is an example of club members working with the community to create a better place for all.
